Drexel Eugene 'Tooter' Cook

Drexel Eugene "Tooter" Cook, age 66, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
He was born in Hazard, Kentucky a son to the late George and Magdalene Head Cook.  He began working as a police officer and later became a volunteer firefighter and EMT.  Drexel  retired from his positon as safety coordinator from the Thomas Hood Veteran's Center in Wilmore, KY.  He was also a Kentucky Colonel and member of the Lancaster First Assembly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Sister, Lois Marie Cook.
Drexel is survived by his Wife, Patricia Cook; Daughter, Angela Chrissy Matthews; Son, Raymond "RayRay" Cook Vance; Sisters, Brenda Dillon (Jess), Sandy Loudermilk (John), and Georgetta Smith (Glen); Brother, Rev. Jim Cook (Bobbie); Grandchildren, Kayla Marie Davenport, Jerry Goddard, Gabrielle and Gregory Gabbard; great Grandchildren, Arianna, Pelia, Johnathan, Aurora, Janessa, Jayla, Dominic, and Anastasia; and by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral service for Drexel Cook will be held at 2pm on Saturday June 2, 2018 at Lancaster First Assembly in Lancaster, with Pastor Wendell Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the McKnight Cemetery.
Visitation will also be on Saturday June 2nd from 12-2pm at Lancaster First Assembly.
