Earl Lee Parris

Earl Lee Parris, 83, of Corbin, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2004 in Laurel County.
Born October 3, 1920 in LeJunior, Kentucky to the late Burley Clifford Parris and Jenny Adams Parris, he also was preceded in death by two daughters Katherine Parris Hughes and Rosa Lee Parris DeLay; by three brothers Arnold, William and B.C. Parris, and sister Rettie Parris. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany during WWII. He was a member of Lynn Camp Baptist Church and the retired co-owner of the City Barber Shop in Corbin.
He is survived by his wife Mary Thelma Perkins Parris of Corbin; a son Lee Parris and wife Linda of Knoxville; six grandchildren, Timothy DeLay, Dawn Johns, Rosemary DeLay, Denise Hughes, Shawn Parris and Jennifer Parris; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nila Daniel and Anna Jean Little; and two brothers Homer Parris and Herman Parris.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 12, 2004 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Carl McCray officiating. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
