Earl Maynard Cole, 77, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was the son of the late William and Daisy Brewer Cole. He had been self-employed as a barber and was Christian by faith. Earl was a veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sons, Earl Benny Cole and Jeffrey Grove Cole and twin sons; three brothers, John M. Cole, Dewey Cole, and Deddle Cole; and grandchildren, Jason Cole, Latisha Gail Self, and David Earl Cole.
Earl is survived by his children, Linda Mills and husband Wilkie of Gray, Elizabeth Warren of Gray, Betty Sulfridge and husband Ronnie of Corbin, Danny Cole and wife Michelle of Loudin, Tennessee, Ralph Cole and wife Marie of Corbin, Eddie Cole and wife Lisa of Maiden, NC, Lisa Pierce and husband Dennis of Gray, Missy Cole and husband Harold of Crossville, TN, and Stephanie Cole and husband of Dayton, OH; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Eugene "Jeep" Cole and Tommy Cole and wife Kate, all of Knoxville; sisters, Dorothy Kyle of Sheffield, Alabama, Imogene Hubbard of Knoxville, and Maggie Caldwell of Knoxville; and a host of nieces and nephews, all who mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday, May 29, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Clouse Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1410.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Thursday, May 28, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
