Earl Southern

Earl Southern, age 93, of Ike Monhollen Road in Corbin, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
He was born on October 16, 1910 in Middlesboro, KY, the Son of the late John Jefferson and Nancy Marsee Southern.
He was a retired construction worker and a Coast Guard Veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dora Monhollen Southern; a Son, Carl David Southern; several Brothers and Sisters.
Mr. Southern is survived by two Sons, Earl Southern, Jr. and his wife Ann of Corbin and John M. Southern and his wife Brenda of Corbin; One Daughter, Linda Vanover and her husband Bobby of London; One Sister, Jewell Russell of Knoxville, TN; Seven Grandchildren Michael Vanover, Michael Southern, Donna Southern, Robert Southern, Betty Issacs, John David Southern, and Kris Caudill;  and Eight Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herbert Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleas Monhollen Cemetery in Corbin.
Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Thursday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin.
