Edith Ann Jones

Edith Ann Jones, 82, of Corbin passed away Thursday evening, February 1, 2018 at Baptist Hospital Lexington.
Edith was the daughter of the late John R. and Margie Ellen "Dicky" Jordan of Corbin.   She was also predeceased by grandparents Larkin C. and Lillian Miller.
She had been an operator with Southern Bell Telephone Co. and later was a bookkeeper for Bissell's Office Supplies in Corbin.  Edith had taught Sunday School at First United Methodist Church and had been a faithful member of Grace on the Hill UMC.  She had belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Survivors include her husband,  J. Carl Jones;  some special cousins: Diane Mitchell, Rob Miller, Linda Lou Sullivan, T. K. Parks, Christina Bentley, Robert Warren Miller, and Randi Ankenbauer; and numerous other cousins and friends.
Her visitation will begin at 5 pm Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Grace on the Hill UMC.  Her life will be honored in a service following at 7 pm with Rev. Tim Thompson, Rev. K. Richard Holladay, and Rev. Weyman McGuire officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am Thursday at the Barbourville City Cemetery.
Memorials are requested to the Building Fund at Grace on the Hill UMC.
