Edith Marie Mcbee Smith

Edith Marie McBee Smith, age 79, of Corbin, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the UK Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a Pentecostal Church and was attending New Zion Ministries in Corbin.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Sol Smith, Sr; Children, John Dewey Smith, Janie Hinkle, Dorothy Marie Dye, and Clarence "Hoss" Smith; Parents, John Wesley and Cleda Garland McBee; Brothers, Dewey, George, and Junior McBee; Sisters, Mary Reynolds and Myrtle Rapier.
She is survived by her Children:  Sarah Belle Powers and husband Marvin, Alfred Smith, Sol Smith Jr, and Yvonne Smith Hampton and husband Calvin, all of Corbin; 17 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Loyal Dean McBee of Hamilton, OH; and by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends who will mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be on Monday, December 1, 2008, at 2pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Elliott, Rev. Roger Miller, and Rev. Harris Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson-Garland Cemetery in Knox County. Pall bearers will be Alfred Smith, Sol Smith Jr., Reed Grubb, Chris Clark, Frankie Frye, and Marvin Powers; Honorary pall bearers will be Calvin Hampton, Ryan Palmer, Dustin Smith, Robert Miller, and Manuel Garcia
Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Sunday, November 30th, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Edith Smith Memorial Fund. Donations may be made at Whitaker Bank or Wood Forrest Bank at Walmart.
