Edna Steele, age 71 of Corbin, KY and formerly of Melvindale, Michigan, went to be with her lord and savior on Christmas Eve morning, December 24, 2005.
She was born in Clay County, Kentucky, on Nov. 8, 1934, the Daughter of the Late Ed Sizemore and Dora Jackson Sizemore.
She was retired from GM Fisher Body in Livonia, Michigan where she worked for 30years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Melvindale, Michigan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Preston Earl Steele originally of Gray, KY; Four Sisters, Della Smith, Louise Sizemore, Bernice Messer, and Lydia Reed.
She is survived by her six Children: JoAnn Hammons of Connersville, IN, Carolyn Steele of Shreveport, LA, Linda Steele Turnbo and husband Dennis of Johnson City, TN, Cheryl Steele Tinsley and husband Brad of Corbin, Earl Alan Steele of Melvindale, MI, and Jim Jeffrey Steele and wife Anne Marie of Lincoln Park, MI; 12 Grandchildren: Scott Hammons of Corbin, KY, Jason Hammons and wife Jenny of Connersville, IN, Kelley Hoadley of West Chester, OH, Rachel Dulong of Belle River of Ontario, Canada, Jamie Hughes of Bloomington, IL, Justin Love Turnbo and wife Pamela of Columbia, SC, Robbie Tinsley and Jeff Tinsley of Corbin, Shaun Steele of Richmond, IN, Corbin Steele and Caleb Steele of Livonia, MI, and Lily Rose Steele of Lincoln Park, MI; Five Great Grandchildren: Makala Hammons, Cassandra, Nathan, and Allysa Hoadley, and Austin Dulong; Sister, Shirley Sizemore of Flat Lick; and Brother, James Sizemore of Detroit.
Service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 11am at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Thompson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Gray, KY. Pallbearers will be Scott Hammons, Jason Hammons, Justin Turnbo, Shaun Steele, Dennis Turnbo, and Brad Tinsley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robbie Tinsley, Jeff Tinsley, Corbin Steele, Caleb Steele, Nathan Hoadley, and Austin Dulong.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 from 6-9pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
