Edward Hoskins

Edward Hoskins, 79, of Corbin, KY, passed away at his home after a long battle with cancer on June 3, 2019.
Edward was born on January 13, 1940 in Kildav, KY (Harlan County) to the late Jesse and Mollie (Sizemore) Hoskins.
He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather that loved fishing and spending time with his family. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Great Lakes Steel in Ecorse, Michigan after 42 years of service, and worked at the Lincoln Park , Michigan Standard Station for 30 years.  He was saved and baptized into the Baptist Faith in 1958 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Witchita, Kansas, while stationed at the McConnell Air Force Base.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years (together 60 years) Alice F. Hoskins (Wilson), his 4 daughters Mollie Jane Hoskins of Southgate, Michigan, Karen L. Hoskins of Corbin, Wanda Diane (Gary) Winter of South Rockwood, Michigan, and Joyce A. Hoskins of Monroe, Michigan. Fourteen grandchildren: Alan (Stephanie) Jackson, Tim (Vanessa) Jackson, Gary (Jennifer) Jackson, Melinda (Dave) Cebina, Joseph (Leah) Condon, James (Hannah) Stininger, Thomas Hoskins, Robert Osborn, Stephanie (Benjamin Chad) Parker, Brandon Osborn, Jacob Winter, Angel Osborn, Nicholas Winter and Benjamin Winter. Seventeen great-grandchildren: Lexi Hoskins, Eden Parker, Griffin Parker, Emmi Parker, Spencer Cebina, Addison Cebina, John Yankee, Gabe Yankee, Ashton Stininger, Jordyn Stininger, Jonas Stininger, William Jackson, Edward Jackson, Dominic Jackson, Phillip Jackson, Ava Jackson and Mara Jackson. His stepmother Loretta (Willis) Hoskins. Four Siblings: Joyce Moore, Bob Hoskins, Wanda (Clarence) Jones, Troy Kenneth (Sharon) Hoskins, and three half-siblings Jimmy Hoskins, Randy Hoskins, and Diane (Doug) Pair.  He is also survived by three sisters-in-law: Shirley Meggison, Carolyn Beeler, and Debbie Wilson Stevens, and one brother-in-law Harry Wilson.  He also leaves behind a large number of nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Daniel and Telitha (Pitman) Hoskins, and maternal grandparents James and Melinda (Lewis) Sizemore, his parents Jesse Hoskins, and Mollie Singleton (Sizemore), a sister Georgia Clines, father-in-law Samuel Wilson and mother-in-law Thelma Wilson (Hinson), a grandson Joshua Winter, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, 5 brothers-in-law: Harold Moore, Jerry Wilson, Larry Wilson, Thomas Hammittee, and Lillard Beeler, and 2 sisters-in-law Joyce Gonyea and Connie Hammittee. Three nephews: Robert Edward Hoskins, Johnny Beeler and Richard Edward Munroe, and 2 great-nieces Melissa Angel and Amy Elizabeth Moore.
Service will be officiated by Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home and are as follow: Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 6, with Rev. Doyle Lester and Kevin Roach officiating. Burial will be in the Locust Grove Cemetery and a reception will immediately follow at Calvary Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday, June 5, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
