Effie Mae (Perry) Siler, 86, went to be with the Lord September 17, 2007. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a great Christian lady. She was loved by all who knew her and her prayers reached out to everyone. She was a charter member of the Park Hill Pentecostal Church that she loved so much. She was a very sweet, kind and precious lady that will be missed by everyone that knew her.
She was born on August 3, 1921 to the late Steven (Steve) and Carrie Elizabeth Perry.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Fred Marcus Siler of 67 years; one daughter, Martha Elizabeth Ann Siler; two brothers, Charles Perry and Henry Perry; and a very special sister-in-law, Vina Siler.
She is survived by three daughters, her beloved Debbie Siler of Corbin, Patricia Harris and husband James William Harris of Corbin and Alice White of Greensboro, North Carolina; two sons, Ned Siler and wife Shirley of Corbin and Fred Marcus Siler Jr. of Greer, South Carolina; and one special sister, Alpha Barnes of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Pam Stewart and husband Billy of Prospect, Kentucky, Karissa Page and husband Keith of Taylor, South Carolina, Shann Evans of Somerset, Kentucky, Candace Siler of Corbin, Donnie Alan White and wife Candice of Middletown, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, Ben Stewart, Jack Stewart and Katelin Stewart all of Prospect, Sam Carter Page of Taylor, South Carolina, Coty Evans of Somerset, Kentucky, Kelly White and Cassidy White of Middletown, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews and friends to mourn her passing. Also, a very special friend, Jwanda Hensley who was always there for many, many years.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon Thursday, Sept. 20, until the time of the funeral service at 2 pm at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Rev. Thurston Hensley will be officiating.
Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
A Mother's love becomes her permanent legacy, her timeless gift to the family. It is a gift to her children, to her grandchildren, and to subsequent generations. We love and cherish you and forever hold you in our hearts.
