Elizabeth Bruce

Elizabeth (Libby) Faddis Bruce, 94, formerly a resident of Somerset, KY, passed away peacefully at Floyd Memorial Hospital in Indiana on March 14, 2015.
She was born August 7, 1920, to Frank and Mary Faddis of Corbin, KY. Elizabeth was a retired employee of Naval Ordinance Station in Louisville, KY, and many years ago a society editor of the Corbin Times newspaper.
Among those who preceded her in death include her husband, Everett Lee Bruce; two brothers, Kenneth Faddis, Evansville, IN, and Jerome Kidd Faddis, Corbin, KY.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Betty Lee Mater; son-in-law, Dr. Bruce A. Mater of Georgetown, IN; and her grandson, Benjamin David Mater of Princeton, NJ.
In recent years, she was a resident at Sally’s Garden, Masonic Home Kentucky and The Villages of Silvercrest in New Albany, IN. Many thanks to all the staff who gave her such comfort.
A private memorial graveside service will be held with interment at Pine Hill Cemetery, Corbin, KY.
