Emily Florence Garland

Emily Florence Garland, 84, of Corbin, passed away July 19, 2019 at Baptist Health Corbin.
She was born in Knox County, Ky to the late Noah Taylor and Bonnie Lee. Emily was a member of New Covenant Church and loved to can, garden, and being with her babies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Sam and Nannie Garland; a daughter, Virginia Lynn Garland; and a sister, Betty Richards.
Emily is survived her loving husband, Marvin Garland, Sr; children, Bonnie Browning, Leanna Abrams (Boyd), Marvin Garland, Jr (Beth), Janet Bays (Henry), Charlie Wayne Garland, and Nannie Rachell Leach; grandchildren, Steve, Jason, Justin, and Ben Garland, Michael Browning, Christina Tye, David Steeley, Stacy Abrams Wells, Scotty Bays, Amy Price, Wayne Garland, Beka Powell, Kelly Burnett, Taylor Garland, Joe Gray, Robert Gray, and Josh Gray; and 39 great grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral service for Emily Garland will be held at 2pm Monday, July 22, 2019, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Pastor Edd Wayne Gibson and Rev. Bo Miracle officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery in Girdler, Ky with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation for Emily will be this Saturday evening 6-9pm, Sunday evening 6-9pm, and Monday 12-2pm at the funeral home.
