Emma Lou Ison

Emma Lou Ison, age 82, of Corbin, departed this life on Thursday August 6, 2015 in Lexington, Kentucky surrounded by her loving family.
Emma was born in Harlan County, Kentucky where she graduated high school and soon met the love of her life. She is now reunited with her Husband of 47 years Byrd Ison; Parents, Flora Mae and Barry Howard; Brothers, Willard, Shelby, and Don Howard; Sisters, Elsie Hogg Watts, Marilyn Boggs, and Evelyn Lawson; and by her daughter in law, Melissa Ison.
She is survived by her Daughter, Deborah "Jeannie" Johnson and husband Robert; Son, Rodney Ison; Grandchildren, Christie VanNorstran, Heather Johnson, Rebecca Engle, Brandon Ison, Matthew Ison, and Alicia Ison; Sister, Margaret Collins; Brother, Harold Howard; 12 Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many more who will mourn her passing.
Funeral service for Emma Lou Ison will be held at 2pm on Monday August 10, 2015 at Dorthae Pentecostal Church where she was a member for over 50 years with Rev. Billy Evans, Rev. Johnny Day, and Rev. Harold Sulfridge officiating.
Burial will follow in the Martin Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Brandon and Matthew Ison, Rusty Engle, Josh, Ryan, and Caleb VanNorstran.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 6-8pm and Monday from 1-2pm at Dorthae Pentecostal Church in Corbin.
