Ernest "Rusty" Allen

Ernest A. "Rusty" Allen, age 74, of Woodbine passed away on Sunday December 5, 2021. He was a retired truck driver, a US Army Veteran of Vietnam, and a member of Winds of Pentecost Church, where he taught Sunday School until he became too ill to attend church. Rusty was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Robbins Allen; parents, B.P. Allen and Etta Cornett Allen; siblings, Grace Brown, Jeanette Reece, Beverly White, David Ingram, Mae Lewis, Nancy Owens, and Rondall "Tuffy" Allen; and by his step-children, Troy Robbins and Randy Baker. He is survived by his step children, Greg Baker, Sherlene Woodrum (Calvin), and Tim Baker; grandchildren, Brittany Anderson (Justin), LeeAnn Allen, and Cassie Baker, numerous great grandchildren, and by his brother, Bud Allen. Visitation will be from 11am until 1pm on Thursday December 9, 2021 at the Vankrik-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 1pm with Rev. Gilbert Valentine officiating. Burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery in Woodbine. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to assist with final expenses.
