Ethel Marie Sawyers

Ethel Marie Sawyers, 85, of Rockholds, passed away on Monday morning, Oct. 5, 2009, at the Corbin Nursing Home.
Born at Maple Creek in Whitley County, she was the daughter of the late Clorida Wells and Annie Beavers Wells. She was a long-time member of the Rockholds Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Sawyers; son, Daryl Sawyers; and two sisters, Mae Wells Cupp and Vernia Wells.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Sawyers of Corbin; son, Gaylon Sawyers and wife Frances of Dallas, Texas; brother, Herman Wells and wife Sue of Williamsburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Sarah Victoria Sawyers, Paul Edward Sawyers, and Daniel Nathan Sawyers, all of Dallas, Texas; two step-granddaughters; and one step-grandson; as well as a host of cousins,friends and neighbors who will mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Logan and Father Robert Damron officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
