Ethel Pennington Parks, age 94, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at The Heritage.
Born in Whitley County, she was the daughter of the late Link Pennington Sr. and Lettie Tramell Pennington. She was a homemaker and a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to her Parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Roy Parks Sr.; Son, Roy Parks Jr.; Daughter, Phyllis Parks; Grandson, Glenn Ray Peace; Son-in-law, Bobby Peace; Brothers, Evan Pennington, Link Pennington Jr., Harold Pennington, and Gearl Pennington; Brothers-in-law, Floyd Carr and Paul Combs; Sisters-in-law, Neva and Janrose Pennington; and by a Nephew, Jimmy Carr.
She is survived by her Daughters, Thelma Louise Hensley and husband Charles, Betty Abner, and Very Special Granddaughter that Ethel raised like a daughter, Thelma Scott and her husband Jason, all of Corbin; Grandchildren, Kenneth Parks and Lisa Elstein; Seven Great-grandchildren; Brothers, Charles Pennington and wife Norma, Earl Pennington and wife Mary Frances, Walter Pennington and wife Hettie Lou, and Kenneth Pennington and wife Shelby Jean all of Corbin; Sisters, Amy Combs of Tennessee, and Nadine Carr of Corbin; Sister-in-law, Dorothy Pennington of Corbin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 9, 2012, from 6pm until the time of her funeral service at 8pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Delmon Sizemore officiating.
