Etholeen Woody Gallagher

Etholeen Woody Gallagher, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away peacefully at the Carolina Village Medical Center on Saturday, August 18, 2018.  A native of Maryville, TN and a longtime resident of Hendersonville, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Anna Nicholson Woody.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Patrick Gallagher, Sr. formerly of Corbin; her daughter, Martha Bookout; and by her brothers, Patrick Woody and Kenneth Woody.
Etholeen enjoyed knitting, needlepoint and golf. She knitted hundreds of caps for newborns as a member of the Pardee Hospital Auxiliary.  Her favorite pastime was playing cards, especially duplicate bridge where she attained the American Contract Bridge League rank of Silver Life Master.
She is survived by her son, Patrick Jr. and his wife Julie of Hendersonville; two daughters, Emily Knoch and her husband Rolland of Chattanooga, TN, and Mary Hayes and her husband Byron of Fernandina Beach, FL; son-in-law David Bookout of Charlotte; seven grandchildren: Sean Clisham, Kevin Clisham and his wife Kerry Anne, George Gallagher and his wife Allison, Sara Pendleton and her husband Matt, Mitchell Wilson, Leigh Ann Privette and her husband Tyler, and Lindsay Bookout; and by  eleven great-grandchildren: Kiley, George, Margaret, Arden, Brady, Keegan, Anna, Blakely, Phoebe, Jep and James.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at the Pine Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.
