Eula Mae Brown, 79, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Edward Brown; her parents, Roosevelt and Betty Turner Thomas; son, Howard Brown; daughter, Birdie Ann Brown; son-in-law, Ron Vanover; five brothers, Earl Ray, Carson, Roy Lee, S.R., and Elmer Thomas.
She is survived by daughters, Phyllis Brown Vanover of Corbin, and Gewayne Taylor and husband Dennis of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Melanie and Melissa Bain, Randal Yeager, Kenny and Daryl Brown; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Robinson; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters: Troy Thomas and wife Kathy, Taylor Thomas and wife Margaret, all of Woodbine, Jimmy Thomas and wife Donna of Bailey Switch, Noah Gene Thomas of Barbourville, and L.D. Thomas and wife Katherine, Janice Vanover and husband Harold, and Lula Belle Storms and husband Donnie, all of Corbin; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 3, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Cook and Rev. Alva Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
