Eva Mae Sasser

October 10, 1913 — November 5, 2006

Eva Mae Sasser, 93, of Gray, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006 at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born October 10, 1913 in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Barbara Proffitt Smallwood. She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Sasser; son, Wade Eugene Sasser; and daughter Dolly Frances Sasser.
She is survived by three children, Alta Mae Purdin of Corbin, Helen Fay Rees and husband Ray of Gray, and William Ernest Sasser of Gray; three grandchildren, Tammy Purdin McCord of Winchester, Barry Ray Rees of Corbin, and Karen Sasser Foreman of Corbin; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan Wade Foreman, Ryan Mathew McCord, Jeffrey Terrell Rees, Amanda Deanne Foreman, Rachael Megan McCord, and Jessica Rae Rees; two brothers, Troy Smallwood and Duncan Smallwood; and one sister, Thelma Rees.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Watkins and Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will be in the Gray Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
