Evelyn Sergent Cooper

Evelyn Sergent Cooper passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at the age of 75 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 3:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Sergent Family Cemetery near Woodbine.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Ronald Cooper, parents Kermit and Ruby Clem Sergent, brother Delmar Sergent, and sisters Pearlie Sergent Nantz and Flora Sergent Nantz. She was a member of Corn Creek Free Church of God. She was a cosmetologist who owned and operated "Eve's Hair Magic" until her retirement.
Evelyn is survived by her son Lee Anthony Smith of Los Angeles, CA and her daughter Melissa Shackleford(George) of Corbin, two grandchildren Ryan Shackleford and Lauren Shackleford, sister Priscillia Bryant, brother Dale Sergent, and several nieces and nephews.
