Florence Meldie Seals, who graced this world for 89 years, was called to her eternal rest on May 29, 2024, in Palos Heights, Illinois. Born on January 20, 1935, in the town of Harlan, Kentucky, she lived a life marked by her steadfast love for her family, her passion for stories, and her enjoyment of nature.
Florence was the family's cherished historian, a beloved aunt whose tales will be fondly remembered and passed down through generations. Her life was a reflection of the values she held dear: family, faith, and the simple joys of life.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom, and is survived by her brother-in-law, James (Joby) Rains, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Florence is preceded in death by her parents, John Harvey Seals and Nancy Elizabeth Wilder Seals, and her ten siblings.
A service to honor Florence's life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Resthaven Cemetery in Harlan, Kentucky. Friends and family are invited to gather at the pavilion shelter at 1:00 PM to pay their respects and celebrate her memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Salvation Army, in recognition of Florence's spirit of generosity and kindness.
The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Resthaven Cemetery in Harlan, Kentucky. Florence Meldie Seals will be remembered as a pillar of her community and a loving figure whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.
