Frances Willis, of Corbin, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Baptist Health in Lexington.
Born in Knox County, Frances was the daughter of the late John Trosper and Mattie Johnson Trosper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Luther H. "Luke" Willis; son Eugene Willis; and siblings Pauline Maxwell, Dallas Trosper and Jackie Brown.
Frances was a member of the Central Baptist Church. She was nicknamed "M & M" (Motels & Malls)due to her love of travel. She had a great love for Little League Baseball and was a big U.K. Basketball and Football fan.
She is survived by her daughter Janice Willis; sons Wayne Willis and Jimmy Maxwell; grandsons Chris Hammack (Alisha), Donald Hammack, and Gerry Wayne Willis (Trish); granddaughters Angelia James and Erica Harvey; great-grandchildren Austin Dale Hammack, Zane Ryan Hammack, Cole Ray Hammack, Weston Allen Hammack, along with several other great-grandchildren; and also two surviving brothers.
Visitation for Frances will be held at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 6-9 pm and from 12-2pm on Thursday at Central Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow at 2 pm Thursday, Oct. 22, at the church. Officiating will be Rev. Michael Addison, Rev. Chad Fugitt, and Rev. James Vandy. Burial will follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery.
