Fred Brewer Jr.

Fred Brewer Jr., 83, of Corbin, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Hamilton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Fred Brewer Sr. and Gertrude Poynter Brewer. Fred was self-employed and was a member of John's Chapel Holiness Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Sears and Antoinette Garl; and granddaughter, Kristy Brewer.
He is survived by a son, Paul David Brewer and wife Thresea of Camden, Ohio; two sisters, Dorthy Strickland of Louisville and Betty J. Stidham and husband Don of Corbin; brother, John Brewer and wife Susie of Michigan City, Indiana; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; special friends, Raymond and Earnestine Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Miracle officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wed., Dec. 16, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
