Gale Ann Black, age 68, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022, at her home. Born in Ft. Hamilton, OH, she was the daughter of the late Roy Smith and Hallie Webb Smith. She was a devoted caregiver to her daughter, Tiffany. Gale enjoyed reading and collecting books. She also loved cooking, cookouts, and sharing her recipes with others. Gale was devoted to her faith, she enjoyed attending church and sharing her faith with others. She served as a Sunday school teacher at numerous churches in the Corbin area. Most of all, she cherished her family and quality time spent with them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Black, daughter, Angela McLean, and brother, Jessie Jones. She is survived by six children, Randy Shane Howard, James Carl Black, Crystal Rosette Black-Brown, Tiffany Black, Hallie Black, and Kayla Ann Black, and her sister, Loretta May Caton and her children. Visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will follow at 2pm with Rev. Brent Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in McFarland Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
