Genetta E. Murphy

Genetta E. Murphy, age 87, of Corbin, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin.
Born in Knox County, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Clara Helton and was a member of the Paint Hill Baptist Church. Genetta had worked as hostess at both Wendy's and McDonald's in Corbin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Murphy; son, Bobby Walters; four brothers; and by a granddaughter.
She is survived by six children, Johnny Walters and wife Pat, Linda Bunch and husband Delbert, Opal Tuttle, Allen Walters, Gary Walters, and Evelyn Jacques and husband Rodney; two step-children, Calvin C. Walters and wife Janice and Mascal Helton and wife Joyce; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be at 11 am Saturday, Sept. 8th, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Merida officiating. Burial will be in the Helton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Friday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin.
