Geneva Lloyd, 92, passed away at the Christian Health Center in Corbin on Wednesday, March 1, 2006.
Geneva was a retired licensed practical nurse, a member of the Daughters of America, a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star, and attended the Church of the Nazarene in Corbin.
Born September 21, 1913 in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late Ed Pennington and Mollie Baird Pennington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jacob M. Lloyd; and by three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by four daughters, Dolores Disney (Earl) of Louisville, Kentucky, Ann Cummins-White (Earl) of Brooksville, Kentucky, Shirley Mahan (Clarence) of Corbin, Kentucky, and Brenda Sanders (Ed) of New Whiteland, Indiana; two sons, L.J. Lloyd ( Nancy) of San Antonio, Texas and Lonnie Lloyd (Ann) of Corbin. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Edith Bourque (Roy) of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Lonnie Storms officiating. Burial will follow in the Ryan Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
The Order of Eastern Star service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home by Bryant Chapter #20.
