Geneva Penix Johnson

Geneva Penix Johnson, 92, of Gray, passed away on June 29, 2016 at Christian Care Corbin.
Born February 29, 1924 in Knox County, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Martha Engle Penix.
On July 24, 1943, she married the late William Johnson, Jr. (12/2/1921 - 4/22/2006). Their son Jerry Wayne Johnson (2/14/1947 - 2/3/2016) preceded her in death.
She is survived by her granddaughter Selena Denise Johnson Mooring and husband John Mooring; great-grandsons Patrick Taylor Miracle and Preston Scott Miracle; and daughter-in-law Jewell Wells Johnson.
She was also predeceased by brothers David Penix, Richard Penix, and Willie Penix; and sisters Nannie Elwood, Lizzie Foley, Sadie Brafford and Mary Ellen Moffett.
A Graveside service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Rest Haven Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
