George J. Campbell, age 93, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013, at his home. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force.
He was the son of the late George and Lelia Campbell of Gray, KY. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman Campbell (and Louella) and Willis Campbell; sisters Henriann Mitchell (and Luster) and Maxine Brewer (Gene); nieces Patricia Skinner and Coiann Salyers; and brother-in-law, Charles "Hut" Haggard.
He is survived by his loving sister, Gail Haggard of Harrodsburg and Corbin; his loving nephews and nieces: David Campbell (Brenda) of Corbin; Faye Mitchell of Nashville, Tennessee; Rocky Campbell (Debbie) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Gary Helton (Dodie) of Indianapolis, Indiana; Allen Campbell of Pine Knot, Kentucky; Coretta Lyons ( Mark) of Harrodsburg; Connie Helton of Harrodsburg; and Lenita Cotton (Bill) of Corbin; as well as many great-nephews and great-nieces; and sister-in-law, Vernice Campbell.
His family and friends deeply mourn his passing and will remember how very loving and supportive he was; as well as the fun times we had with him. We are forever blessed to have had him in our lives.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6th, until the Funeral at 2:00 p.m. at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Ray Stepp officiating.
Burial will be in the Farris Cemetery in Gray with military graveside honors.
