Greg Cord, age 66, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on April 9, 2025, at his residence.
Born on February 19, 1959, in Paris, Kentucky, USA. Greg was a beloved husband, father, and Papa. In his life, he left an indelible mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. A man of integrity, Greg was known for his commitment to service as demonstrated by his 24-year career with the Corbin Fire Department, where he retired as Battalion Chief, and his honorable service in the United States Navy. His dedication to protecting others and his unwavering courage were an inspiration to all.
Greg was a passionate outdoorsman, finding peace and solace in hunting and fishing. He was also a member and trustee at the Calvary Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky. His faith was the compass that guided his life. He knew and was known by GOD.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Cord, and their sons, Randy Cord (Amy) and Lucas Cord (Miranda); granddaughters, Aubrey, Savannah, Presley, and Payton Cord; great-grandson, Knox Harper; sister, Connie Cord; special aunts, Linda Jones (Larry), and Shirley Martin; Kim's sisters, Tammy Magowan, and Tracy Bost (Joe); and her brother, Mike Wilson. And a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Greg is preceded in death by his mother, Birdie Cord, and stepmother, Doris Dugger.
Greg's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and service. He will forever be remembered as a man who lived life to its fullest.
Visitation for Greg will be on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church from 11 am until 1 pm, when his memorial service will begin, with Rev. Kevin Roach officiating.
Military honors will be conducted by DAV Chapter 158 of Keavy.
