Geraldine "Gerry" Mcneil Steele

February 24, 1929 — July 29, 2024

Geraldine "Gerry" McNeil Steele, age 95, of Berea, Kentucky, formerly of Corbin, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the Terrace Nursing Home in Berea.


Born in Corbin, Kentucky, she was a retired sales and credit manager from the former Sears Store in Corbin. Gerry was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Corbin.


She was preceded in death by her first husband Clarence McNeil, second husband, Darrell Steele, mother, Julia Smallwood Rice; and by her son, David McNeil.


Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Deborah M. Whitehouse and husband Roger of Richmond, KY, grandchildren, Scott Whitehouse of Louisville, Chris McNeil and wife Michelle of Gig Harbor, Washington, and Julie Yalzanov and husband Tony, and great-grandchildren, Dylan Yalzanov and Emily Yalzanov all of Lexington.


Visitation will be from 12-1 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm.


Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church that she dearly loved, First Baptist Church, 401 N. Laurel Avenue, Corbin, KY 40701.
