Gilbert H. Perry, age 95, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at his home. Born in Gray, KY, he was a son to the late Alex Perry and Mary Cobb Perry. Gilbert served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. Following his service, he worked as a foreman at Newman Brothers Inc. in Cincinnati, OH. Gilbert was full of laughter and full of life. He was an honest man who never met a stranger. He loved God and walked by faith. He loved all people, and he was deeply loved in return. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Pauline Perry, daughter, Veda, six brothers, Robert, Tollie, Chester, Noel, and Lee Perry, and a sister, Sarah Perry. Gilbert is survived by his daughter Valerie Guthrie (Tim), and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will follow at 2pm on Sunday, August 7th. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, KY.
