Harley Edward Jones

Harley Edward Jones, 86, of Corbin, Kentucky and formerly of Louisville, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at his home. A Corbin native, he was a son of the late Ed W. and Effie Howard Jones. Harley was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the General Electric Co. He was a Baptist and had been a Mason. He enjoyed the outdoors - especially hunting and fishing. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty J. McCowan Jones on December 23, 1990. They were married on April 28, 1961. Harley is survived by a brother, R. Howard "Cotton" Jones of Pine Knot, a sister, Shirley Ann Howard of Louisville, and five nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00pm Thursday, August 4th at Pine Hill Cemetery with Rev. Albert Jones officiating. Military honors will be performed by the American Legion Post 88 Honor Guard. There will be no visitation. Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home is serving the Jones family.
