Harris W. Smallwood

Harris W. Smallwood, age 71, of Caryville, TN, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2025, at Tennova-LaFollette Medical Center. 

Born in Corbin, KY, he was the son of the late Robert C. Smallwood and Jeanette McHargue Bryant. Harris was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked as a truck driver and mechanic. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Young, and numerous other family members. 

He is survived by his grandson, Andrew Young; sisters, Glenda Smallwood, and Teresa Jenkins (Kenneth); and brothers, Nathan Bryant and Tommy Smallwood. 

Visitation will be held from 11-1 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will follow at 1 pm on Thursday, with Rev. Shane Martin officiating.
