Hazel Mills Gray

Hazel Mills Gray, age 91, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Baptist Health Corbin.

Born in Mills, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Jim Tom Mills and Effie Smith Mills. Hazel was one of the hardest working women you would ever meet. She loved her family fiercely. She was an amazing cook and truly enjoyed having all of her family come and eat at her table. She raised her children and several of her grandchildren. Hazel spent her 91 years here on earth loving and caring for others. She will be missed and will always be thought of as a classy lady that loves without prejudice!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Gray, two children, Linda Sue Gray and Lonnie Gray, and by her siblings, Bernice Grubb, Deffanie Mills, Oakhue Mills, Gertrude Gambrell, Basoline Messer, Gelammha Bright, and Elbert Mills.

Hazel is survived by four children, Donald Ray Gray, Theron Gray, Barbara Wagers, and Charles Gray, and by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family members, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will follow at 2pm with Rev. Michael Addison officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fox Addition of Calvary Cemetery in Corbin, KY.

Following the committal service, a meal will be held for family and friends at New Hope Ministries Corbin.
