Henry R. "Bo" Simpson, 83, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at Tri-Cities Nursing & Rehabilitation in Cumberland, Kentucky.
Born in Chevrolet, KY, Bo was the son of the late John and Jessie Kirkland Simpson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Geneva Northcutt and Lucille Northcutt, and brother, Thomas Edward Simpson.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served in the Korean Conflict. Bo was the founder and first president of S&S Service, Inc., a mining supply company. He was a member of Cumberland Baptist Church. Bo enjoyed remarkable health and strength and enjoyed playing golf until just recently.
He is survived by his Wife, Lillian Faye Mullins Simpson; three Children: Jeffrey Ray Simpson (Shelia), Michael Roy Simpson (Connie), and Stephen Henry Simpson (Judy); six Grandsons: Kevin Ray Simpson (Kimberly), Derek Lee Simpson, Jonathan H. Simpson (Kristen), Justin C. Simpson, Stephen Cody Simpson, and Kyle Logan Simpson (Samantha); two Great-grandchildren: Brandon and Brandie Simpson; two Brothers: Eugene Simpson and Denny Ray Simpson; two Sisters: Reba Reasor and Nancy Reed; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends who mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, Feb. 22, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey Tingle officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery with military graveside honors. Grandsons will serve as pall bearers.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.
