Herman E. Lawson

Herman E. Lawson, 74, of Corbin passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at UK Healthcare at Lexington.
Born in Whitley County, he was a son of the late Sim and Bessie Mae Prewitt Lawson. His brother Howard Ray Lawson also preceded him in death. Herman was a US Army veteran, and in the past had pastored some local churches. He was an avid crappie fisherman. He was known for the tire businesses he operated around Corbin. His survivors include his wife Carolyn Jody Lawson; his sons: Timothy Lee Lawson and Richard Sim Lawson; grandchildren: Trenity Lawson, Bryce Lawson, and Aiden Lawson; a brother, Rev. Harold Lawson and wife Joy; and nephew James Ray Lawson. Herman's funeral will be held at 1 pm Sunday, February 28 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. J. R. Kitts and Rev. Gary Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Corinth Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 am Sunday at the funeral home.
