Hettie Lou Pennington

Hettie Lou Pennington, 76, of Corbin, passed away Thursday evening, December 28, 2017 at her home.
Born in Williamsburg, she was a daughter of the late Arch and Nancy Richardson Caudill.  She had worked as a laboratory technician in the offices of Dr. Gene Scott and Dr. J. M. Watts.  Hettie was a member of First Baptist Church in Williamsburg and had enjoyed singing in the choir at her church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a  brother Arch "Pat" Caudill, a sister Nancy "Cheerio" Wyatt, and a grandson Michael Pennington.
Hettie Lou is survived by her husband Walter Pennington, Sr.;  children: Walter Pennington, Jr., Suzanne Marie Opalka and husband David, and Scott David Pennington and wife Kimberly;  nine grandchildren: Brittany Marie Sarver, Susan Jennifer Pennington, Walter Pennington, III, Laranda Nancy Opalka, Kalyna Olga Opalka, Sophia Louise Opalka, Kendall Rose Pennington, Evan Scott Pennington, and Dawson Kelly Pennington; and a brother William Ancil "Bud" Caudill.
Her visitation will be from 6 until 9pm Friday, Jan. 5, 2018 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, and from 11am until 1pm Saturday, Jan. 6 at First Baptist Church in Williamsburg.  The funeral service will begin at 1pm there with Rev. Ande Myers and Rev. Robert White officiating.
Interment will be at the Ryan Cemetery in Whitley County.
