Ida Mae Carroll

Ida Mae Carroll, age 82, of Corbin, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Oak Tree Hospital.
A native of Perry County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Blanton Carroll. Her brother John G. Carroll and special friend Edna Boyd also preceded her in death.
Ida Mae had worked as an operator for the telephone company, and as receptionist for Dr. Raymond Ohler. She was a faithful member of Grace on the Hill United Methodist Church where she taught children in Sunday School and achieved many years of perfect attendance.
Survivors include a cousin, Stanley Keith of Florida, and several special friends: Mike and Vickie Phipps, Carl and Edith Jones, Keith and Stacie Miles, Sandra Brown, Maureen Jackson, Juanita Kearney, Gerri Lockhart, and Donna Vermillion.
Visitation will begin at 11am Thursday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with her funeral to follow at 2pm with Rev. Tim Lowe officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bob Eckert, Carl Jones, Keith Miles, Clayton Ely, Craig Vermillion, and Les Williamson. Honorary bearers will be staff and residents of Friendship House, and the Goodwill Fellowship Class.
