Imogene "Jean" Engle, age 85, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013, at St. Joseph London.
She was born on October 16, 1927, in Knox County, the daughter of the late J.P. Campbell and Ada Campbell. She had been a sales clerk for over 25 years at the former Begley Drugstore and Rite Aid.
She was Baptist by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Ray Engle; two brothers, Lester and Allen Campbell; and sister, Camilla Terrell.
She is survived by six children: Dennis Ray Engle and wife Jackie, Carol Engle, Patricia Engle, Phyliss Engle, Janice Thomas and husband Marty, and Lisa Thomas and husband Michael; nine grandchildren: Carrie Engle; Amanda Sexton and husband Duran and their children Zachary, Logan and Ryleigh; Scott Barrett and wife Stacey; Brian Ray Engle and wife Tara and their children Kennedy Rae and Maddux Christopher; Daniel Barrett; Gena Robinson and husband Daniel and their children Noah, Jacob and Caleb; Sara Trosper and husband Cameron; Rachel Thomas; and Isaac Thomas; special family friend, Faline Johnson; twin brother, G.E. "Jack" Campbell and wife Sylvia of Dayton, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Lucille Walters and husband Jack; Katherine Engle; Ruth Campbell; and Opal McCullah; brother-in-law, Wilford Engle of Richmond, Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends, all who mourn her passing.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 1st, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Moore officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Wednesday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
The burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin.
