James Crawford Mills, Sr.

James Crawford Mills Sr. passed away on April 13, 2024, in Corbin, KY, at the age of 56. He was born on April 3, 1968, in Cincinnati, OH.

He is survived by many loved ones including: His wife, of 35 years, Lora Goad Mills of Corbin, KY; His 3 sons & their families, Michael Rice & his wife Susanna as well as their children: Trevor, Reighanna, and Macyn of Williamsburg, KY; James (Jay) Mills Jr. of Huntington, WV; Joshua Mills & his wife Freedom as well as their son Duncan of Corbin, KY; His parents, Delano and Carolyn Mills of Corbin, KY; His sister, Anna Estep & her husband Chad as well as their children: Chase, Cady, and Camden; His beloved shih-tzu, Mongo Mills; His best friends, Jim Reeder and Joey Hampton; His many friends & coworkers at Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, for whom he worked since 1988. As well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins

He is an alumnus of Corbin High School, graduating in 1986.

James proudly served his country in the Kentucky National Guard from 1987 to 1993.

He was a dedicated Boy Scout leader from 1997 to 2014, sharing his love for Scouting with his two youngest sons, helping both them and many other scouts attain the rank of Eagle Scout. He was very involved as a member of the Corbin Band Boosters, serving as President in 2014-2015 during his youngest son’s senior year.

He was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church, where his visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. A service celebrating James' life will begin at 8pm with Rev. Victor Bramlett and Rev. Allen Bonnell officiating.

James will be remembered for his commitment to his community, his faith, and his family. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of service and dedication.
