James J. Ball

James J. Ball, age 88, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at the Corbin Nursing Home.
Born in Owsley County, he was the son of the late Martin Ball and Rebecca King Ball. He was a member and Deacon of the Chapel Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry L. Ball and Wayne Byrd; and sister Zola Plantholt.
He is survived by his wife Bobbie Ball; daughter, Sandy Lawson; grandson, Jeffrey Gallimore; great-grandchildren, Dakota and Dalton Gallimore; sister, Goldie McKinney; brother, Conley Ball; special children whom he considered grandchildren, Mindy and Ashley Logan.
Funeral service will be at 2 pm Wednesday, January 23, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Abner officiating. Burial will be in Terrell Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Lawson, Michael Smith, Fred Logan, Donnie Logan, Paul Miles, Mark Helton, Randy Carter, and Dalton Gallimore.
Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
