James K. "Monk" Martin

James K. "Monk" Martin; age 73 of Keavy, passed away on his home on Tuesday June 23, 2015.
He was born in Laurel County and was the owner and operator of Martins Nursery. James was a member of Level Green Baptist Church and was a US Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era.
He is survived by his Wife, of 51 year, Stella M. Martin; Son, Tony Lee Martin and fiancée Kathy; Grandsons, Bradley J. Martin and wife Luken and Logan K. Martin; Brother, Kurt Martin and wife Joann; Sister, Hazel Hazelwood and husband John, and by several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his Parents, Monroe and Nannie Martin; three half Sisters, three half Brothers, and one great Granddaughter, Emery Martin.
Funeral service for James "Monk" Martin will be held at 1pm on Thursday June 25, 2015 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Chappell Cemetery in Keavy, KY where Curt Martin, Bradley Martin, Clayton Hazelwood, Joe Leopold, Tony Martin, and Logan Martin will serve as pall bearers. Honorary pall bearers will be Regina Sears and Tammy Sanchez.
