James Prewitt

James Prewitt was born April 23, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio and departed this life on January 21, 2020 in his home. He was 60 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jess and Helen Prewitt; two brothers and one sister, Greg Prewitt, Terry Prewitt, and Brenda Taylor.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beulah Prewitt of Corbin; two children, Scott Prewitt (Taralyn) of Corbin, and Alesia Doane (Richard) also of Corbin; three grandchildren, Cambree Prewitt, Lorelai Prewitt, and Drakken Doane; one brother, Timothy Prewitt of Harrodsburg; a special uncle and friend, Jim Prewitt (Ruth) of Anneville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends to mourn his passing.
He loved to hunt and fish, especially with his family. He loved his grandbabies, and his pride in them was evident to all that knew him. He never missed a game, and he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was a handyman, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed! Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Dorsey King and Bro. Tim Prewitt officiating.
Burial will be in the McHargue Cemetery in Lily, KY. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will include Richard Doane, Jimmy Prewitt, Chris Prewitt, Gary Steenbergen, Lynn Ruhlow, Ashton Gregory, Darrell Hendrix.
