James R. Gaither, Sr.

James R. Gaither, Sr., age 89, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at his home. Born in Jackson, Michigan, James was the son of the late Ellis C. and Edith Mae Kennedy Gaither. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, and a member of Greenland Baptist Church. He had been an industrial engineer for Certainteed. In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in death by all of his siblings. He is survived by his wife Kay J. Osborn Gaither; three children: Brenda Mullins (Ben) of London, Linda Partin of Corbin, and James R. Gaither, Jr. of Harlingen, Texas; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Following the current COVID-19 mandates from the Governor, all services will be private. Memorials are suggested to Greenland Baptist Church. Messages may be written to the family at
