James Robert Black

James Robert Black, age 30, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at his home.
Born in Jellico, Tn, James grew up loving cars and fishing. He was a talented cook, who loved to share his meals with family and friends. He especially enjoyed anytime he was able to grill. Most of all, James loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by three grandparents, Ernest Jackson, Donald Black, and Norma Keller; and by two uncles, Timothy Jackson and James Robert Black. James is survived by his mother, Mildred Ellen Johnson (Gregory); father, William O. Black of Detriot, MI; daughter, Aleah Eversole; brother, Jonathan Black (Kathy); sister, Amanda Black (Tim); grandmother, Shirley Jackson; aunt, Annette Brown; uncle, Ernest Jackson; cousins, Tyler Baker, Justin Baker, Dylan Baker, Brittany Brown (Jason) and their children, and Craig Black; very special friend, Ashley Rose; aunt, Chaundra Cole; uncles, Richard Keller and Brent Keller; and by numerous other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Funeral service for James will be held at 3pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin, Ky.
