James Willard Burkhart

James Willard Burkhart, age 80, of Rising Sun, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at his residence.
Born in Pittsburg, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Garfield Burkhart and Stella Lanham Burkhart. He was a
U. S. Army veteran and a member of the East London Holiness Church.
His wife, Reva Y. Burkhart, whom he married on April 15, 1952, preceded him in death in 2007. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Iva Joyce Burkhart Calhoun; brothers, Ballard and Paul Burkhart; and sisters, Pearlie Faye, Audrey, Pauline, Wilma and Bonnie.
He is survived by three sons: Frank Burkhart and wife Jan of Warren, Michigan, Michael Ray Burkhart and wife Karen of Brookville, Indiana, and Douglas Willard Burkhart of Camden, Ohio; three daughters: Stella Fish and husband Michael of Rising Sun, Indiana, Judy Gail Harris and husband Ronnie of Cross Plains, Indiana, and Betty Bimber and husband Bob of West Harrison, Indiana; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sisters: Ethel Shaw, Jackie Houze, and America Mitchell; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, until the time of the Funeral at 2:00 pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Holland officiating. Burial will be in the Felts Chapel Cemetery.
