Janet Miller Belew

Janet Miller Belew, age 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at her home in Gray, KY.
Born in Alva, Kentucky in Harlan County, she was a retired nurse that devoted more than 30 years to the care of the elderly. She received her nurse's training in Whitesburg, Kentucky during the 1950's, and never stopped caring for friends and family in times of sickness and need.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Belew; her parents, George and Allie Miller; and her dear brothers, A.C. and William Speed (Bill) Miller; and her nephew, Jerry Wayne Miller.
Janet will be dearly missed by her children, Arlene Belew, Floyd Belew and wife Vandora, and Marlene Belew Huff and husband Steve; two grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob; and a very special great-grandchild, Millie. She is also survived by three siblings, Jimmie Miller and wife Irene, Mary Jones and husband Larry, and Genevieve Bargo and husband Kenneth; seven nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, all who mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be at 2pm Wednesday, November 9, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Helton and Rev. Willis Woods officiating. Burial will be in the Candle Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin.
