Juanita Jean Pryor

Juanita Jean Pryor, age 81, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at home with her family by her side.

Born in Harlan County, Kentucky, she is preceded in death by her mother and father D.R. (Zeb) and Margaret Hicks; brother Rayborn ‘Pete’ Hicks; and sister Deborah Gilbert.

Jean was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church where she took great joy singing in the choir, teaching the ladies' Sunday School class, and she was a founding member of Busy Hands Ministry. Her devotion was not limited to her faith as Jean was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. 

She is survived by her husband Paris Willard Pryor of Corbin, Kentucky; sons Willard (Rusty) Pryor and wife Nora, Bryan Pryor and wife Julie; daughter Melissa Pryor and grandsons Alex, Anderson, and Paris (Ehmet); sisters Mary Ann Asher, Earlyn (Arnie) Hays, and Tammy (Mike) Lincoln.

Burial will be at Cumberland Memorial Garden, Corbin, KY. Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton presiding, following a private service.
