Jerry Garland

Jerry Garland, age 57, of Gray, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Knox County, he was the son of the late Jakey and Della Smith Garland. Jerry was Holiness by faith, and had worked in the coal mines.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ada Mae Carter; and two brothers, Levi and Ellis "Duke" Garland.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Carter Garland; two sons, J.J. Smith and wife Johnna of Berea, and Anthony Garland and wife Heather of London; daughter, Jayla Garland and fiance Dakota Scott of Gray; grandchildren, Morgan, Macy, Moira, Michael, Nick, Emily, Kelsey and Jace; two brothers, Henry Garland and Matt Garland both of Gray; three sisters, Peggy Wilburn of Gray, Janice McCrystal of Corbin, and Alice Helton of Corbin; and numerous other family and friends to mourn his passing.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm Wednesday, March 21, until the time of the funeral at 7:00 pm at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating.
