Jimmy Wayne Hibbard

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Jimmy Hibbard, who passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, in Muncie, Indiana. 

Born in Rushville, IN on March 26, 1971, Jimmy was a radiant light and a pillar of strength to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jimmy's life was characterized by his deep faith, his love for children, and his commitment to helping them realize their potential. 

Jimmy found immense joy in talking with children about their Savior, Jesus Christ. His eyes would light up with a particular brilliance whenever he had the opportunity to share his faith. His compassion and genuine care for their spiritual and life journey was evident to all who saw him interact with children. As Matthew 19:14 says, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Jimmy truly lived by this verse, dedicating his life to nurturing the young souls around him. 

Beyond his spiritual pursuits, Jimmy was an avid fan of football, particularly the Miami Dolphins, and found enjoyment in playing fantasy football. Additionally, Jimmy had a love for woodworking and took pride in his car. 

Jimmy was preceded in death by his son, Brett Hibbard; mother, Gloria Stapler; and by his sister, Marie Hibbard. 

He is survived by his son Alex Hibbard; father, Rev. Jimmy Hibbard and stepmother Shelia; brothers, John Jeffrey Hildebrand, Ronnie Stapler, Dennis Stapler, and Terry Stapler; former wife, Jill Hibbard; and by many other family and friends. 

Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Tri-County Trinity Church, 301 Mauney Chapel Road, Corbin, Kentucky, where his funeral service will be held at 2 pm, on Sunday, February 23rd.

 Burial will follow in the McFarland Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
