Jimmy T. Gilbert

Jimmy T. Gilbert, 57, of Corbin, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at his residence.
Born in Bell County, he was the son of the late Clarence Gilbert and Hazel North Gilbert. He was a self-employed mechanic and was Christian by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Gilbert; step-daughter, Sandy Hoover; and nephew, Michael Gilbert.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Gilbert; five children, Elizabeth Gilbert, Debbie Cox, Jimmy Gilbert Jr., Melissa Gilbert and Bobby Gilbert, all of Corbin; six sisters, Minnie Trice of Corbin, Geraldine Barton of Corbin, Frances Gilbert Begley of Corbin, Mary A. Hembree of Amherst, Ohio, Thelma Drummonds of Corbin, and Charlene McVey of Jellico; one brother, Charles Edward Gilbert of Corbin; six grandchildren, Brittany Cox, Derek Gilbert, Brandon Cox, Brooklyn McCloud, Jeffrey Baise III, and Jessica Gilbert, all who mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday, June 28, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Shannon Hall and Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Friday at the funeral home.
